Danny: Here are some ideas about my background and approach:
I usually have brief discussions before each class.
The sessions include discussions, Pranayama and Asana. (Discussion topics are listed below.) EACH Asana class will also include derivative poses and modifications to show how to keep expanding the practices of Ashtanga Yoga to make them a Joyous, Sacred, Lifetime, Healing, Unlimited Exploration.
"Yoga arose out of man's perception of nature and is a journey back to Nature."
As an ancient Shamanic practice, Yoga is about creating personal empowerment, personal authority and total freedom with an understanding that Nature is our Spiritual Teacher and Guide...

Our first teacher and long time friend is Danny Paradise,
one of the first 11 teachers in the west and one of the very first one to introduce Ashtanga into U.K. and Europe.
Through the years we studied with many prominent teachers, to include Sri.Krishna Patabhi-Jois, Sharat Rangaswami, David Swenson, Shandor (Zander) Remete, Chuck and Maty, and many more.We cannot thank enough all our teachers, and especially Danny Paradise who was kind enough to kick–srart us on the Yoga Jeurney.
It seems that the real message of Yoga is not practice systems and sub-systems with fancy names and agendas, but the ability to see the individual student and to convey the Yogic information to him or her.
Some Yoga systems claim they emphasize precision body alignment, or caring and adapting to the individual. Others- dynamics, heat, workout, therapy, healing, relaxation, concentration, philosophy, consciousness, meditation….…..
The truth is that every True Yoga system should emphasize all of the above- otherwise it is not a Yoga System. So, it seems that what makes the Yogic difference is the teacher rather then the “System”. This is how we teach Yoga, this is how we train Yoga teachers, and this is how we practice.
Ashtanga to us is not an infatuation anymore, but a life long companion and guide. Love from 2nd sight, they say.
Like you, we went through the crazy Ashtanga phases, the love and hate periods, the Kamikazi practice, the unsatisfied times, and we learned and cherish them all. We intend to go on practicing Ashtanga, we love it, it keeps us alive, healthy, well and successful. We can offer you our vast experience, some insights, good humor, some "stand up" Yoga, and much love.
LANGUAGE:
All our teachers can teach in English if you need it- just let us know when you come to the class.
Scroll down for a brief explanation about levels and teaching methodes.
CLASSES:
At the Ashtanga Yoga Shala you will find Yoga classes all day, all week, all year round. Classes are based on the practice principals that the Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga brought forward to the Yoga world: the coordinated use of Bandhas, Pranayamas, Vinyasa, and Drishti.
We have longer or shorter classes, early morning and lunchtime, afternoon and evening, big or small, faster or slower, less advanced or more advanced, “baby and me”, Yoga for kids, 1st and 2nd series, workshops, retreats, teacher training courses…..
CLASSES AND LEVELS :
1-2: Beginner / new to the practice- for those who want to work relatively slowly.
1-3: General practice class- general practice of the Primary Series of the Ashtanga-Vinyasa System.
Lunchtime sessions- 1 hr. session, quick and efficient Yoga practice.
2-3, 3, 2nd series - Stronger practice- introducing the "Full Vinyasa" theory with technical and Darshanic insights.
"Rational Yoga", Anatomical Yoga Technique:
both an approach to yoga practice, and a specific teaching method, developed at the Shala.
Anatomic emphasis on the origins, practice and sequencing of asanas, exploring different variations for different needs and skills- while maintaining the principles of yoga, and the Ashtanga Vinyasa tradition as a fine example: Bandhas, Vinyasa, Pranayamas, and Drishti
At the Yoga Shala we teach Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in the 3 classical methods:
Led practice, Self Practice, and Vinyasa counting.
We aim to teach Yoga in a universal approach, based on the anatomical and energetic principles of the Ashtanga System: we call it "Rational Yoga" and " Anatomical Yogic Technique ", the fruit of many years of research and study.
We also offer meditation courses, yoga for Parents and babies, yoga for children, Yoga therapy courses, and Yoga Dance courses.
AND- Yoga Teacher Training Courses (in Hebrew....) and Yoga Dance instructor training.
Our dedicated teachers will guide you through your practice according to your needs.

Namaste to all our Teachers and Students, always!
In Peace and Friendship, Gilad and Miri Harouvi
